The interrelationship between the creative economy and gender-inclusive development: international trends and the experience of Uzbekistan

Abstract

The article examines the role of the creative economy in ensuring women’s employment and gender-inclusive development. Based on data from UNCTAD, UNESCO, the World Bank and the ILO, the share of creative industries in the global economy, the sectoral structure of women’s employment within them, and gender gaps are analyzed. The institutional and legal foundations for developing the creative economy in Uzbekistan and women’s labor market indicators are studied, and the potential of the creative sector to increase women’s employment is assessed. Based on the research findings, scientific and practical recommendations aimed at ensuring gender-inclusive development through the creative economy are proposed
